Not as challenging as I would like, but the grid staring was extremely quick. Like others have said, at least we have people able to set puzzles, something that is beyond my capabilities.

The constraints set for the setters make their efforts even more astonishing. I submitted a couple (one of which I thought was good) only to fall at the first hurdle of average answer lengths.

rickye - what are the rules re average answer lengths?

Average entry length should be at least 5.5. The Listener Crossword website gives instructions and guidance to setters on such matters.
Ok, the clues were on the easy side, but the grid was a masterpiece of construction, with one of its best features not mentioned in the preamble: the endgame, replacing a surprising statement with a name, results in an astounding number of new real words. Any setter who has attempted such an endgame knows what a feat that is. Chapeau to Remus!

Whilst ultimately unnecessary, the preamble did provide a useful disambiguation of 1D.

Easy or not I enjoyed it and the title was a hoot. Thank you, Remus.

I agree that this was a quick solve, but it was enjoyable, with an engaging twist. But I cannot find the first two letter omissions, which may be connected with my inability to parse 15 across.
Any hints?

eenk, large isn't a single letter, it's two

All done except that I cannot parse 4 down, even though there is only one choice for the unchecked letter. Nudge please.

Many thanks, I hadn’t thought of that!

Still looking for the first two added letters, though. But if the extra letter common to 25a and 12d is extra to both clues, that would just leave one to find.
