Thanks monabuck, I got it while you were typing, or perhaps your hint reached me through the ether.

Yes an easy solve today. Some superfluous words agreed ‘but’ in 15a and 10d ‘al’ for I’ll not sure that’s a homophone but enjoyable.

I agree, 10d is so bad it's funny!

swarbrules — Thanks for the hints! They were definitely not unduly explicit, since I haven't quite figured out what you meant yet!

(But I plan to.)

I've finished the puzzle so am not personally concerned about spoilers for those clues.

I had trouble with 13a. I have found out (via Google) that the first 4 letters mean back muscles (reversed), and I assume the last 5 (reversed) refer to buff colour. Am I right?

Ianwil@25 that's how I read it! Sport being a closed book to me (I even had to google the lady in 10d to learn who she was!) I don't understand 10d at all, apart from her first name being a homophone for the first bit. Is it a reference to someone she beat or something?

Just read out your answer to 10d quickly and listen to what you said!

Thanks for the reply Chrise. I must be missing something or have a wrong answer (I have "green"/"geographical term"). Can't make it sound like anything coherent apart from her first name then possibly ordering a side dish in an Indian restaurant 😃

Sounds like you have it right. It's two words, first one is a contraction.

Panny dropped on 10d. That is so bad it's good then back to bad again!
