All finished and almost all understood, but I am having problems parsing 16A. I know what it is, but ... Any help?

16A ‘about’ indicates a reversal. ‘Note’ is two letters (one of which is the extra one).

Well that was fun - took a but longer than usual. Just stuck on parsing 21A: "International British gymnast's trapped fingers". Any help?
Thanks.

The British gymnast (female) loses her 3rd letter, and the I for international is inside ('s trapped).

Came this late as was otherwise fully engaged. A very neat construction - I particularly liked the final direction of the preamble. As expected, the setter had to locate a few unusual words to ensure everything worked.

Finally finished this morning and submitted my entry online. Then I noticed that I had been (ahem) stumped by the parsing of 6dn. Thanks to Mattrom #15 for the elucidation. That certainly brought a Homeric response from me!
Nice work, Claw. This kept me entertained/scratching my head for quite a while.
