Like Helen, I also can't parse 4d. Someone please explain!

4d is a 2 part sounds like

No. I've not seen it. The last 4 letters sound like a bit of a mermaid (or other fish)

Well I found that really hard. I don't think I would have solved / parsed 1d, 2d, 11d, 21d, or 26a without help from this forum. Thanks for all the hints.

On 3d I'm afraid I gave up and used the Quick solve on this site. I don't think I would ever have got the solution from the clue.

Fingers crossed everyman will get back to being a tad easier soon.
