Unless I have the wrong answers, I'm struggling with the comic part of 11a and the boards part of 4d. Some help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. So far not an easy solve for me.

Hi Rocky,
Comic (adj) is the first four and the final letter, having been ‘cycled’.
Boards is an indicator to put British inside.

Hi Jono

Thanks. Then I think it must be a different type of ..... than the one I have because that's exactly how I parsed it but it doesn't make comic. I shall press on.

Morning all! I haven't had such a dry first run for a very long time, only 12d installed. This is going to be a good one.

Well I certainly wouldn't say I found that easy but it does get easier as you get into it and as you pick up Jack's wavelength. I really enjoyed getting to grips with his style and I thought this was a cracking puzzle. Being one hour ahead in Italy gave me a head start too.

FOI after a slow start was 12d. LOI 21d which was fiendishly disguised. COD hard to call but as it stumped me for so long I'm going 11a.

Can't figure out the meaning of the Nina yet. I daresay someone here will.

Very nice puzzle by Rosa Klebb (who Guardian solvers may better know as Arachne) in the FT today.
