Thanks Jono, I've got that far, but I can't decide what the correct versions of the misprinted words in each clue should be.

Wow. What a puzzle! I cannot parse 1a or 14a. I believe it is the same misprint letter in each and have the obvious answer - but they don’t make sense in wordplay. Any hints from the group? Thanks.

XwordFiend, I found having a cuppa helped me solve 1 A - and then I worked backwards to see how to accomodate my (rightly guessed) answer. ( I don't 'canter' often, but I am a fan of the replacement...)
