Ohhh- so the second 2 is 'neat' which I've had to look up and did not know that usage. Something else new learned. Thank you, ChrisE.

I’ve been in Norway all weekend (and up in the fjords out of range for much of it), so didn’t have access to the grid until I came here this evening (thanks so much, jono), having solved all the clues, not without a struggle. Can’t remember what my FOI was (possibly the strangely straightforward N). LOI K as I knew neither the currency nor the ‘big gun,’ so I started with the other element and found a four-letter currency beginning with K (the obvious 5-letter ones being equally obviously unworkable).
COD, and the penultimate entry: G.

JudyG, if you give the clue(and letter count) you'll find more helpers here! Not everyone has a copy.

Thanks, JudyG. There are posting guidelines, I'm not sure if they're featured on the first page... they often are. Basically it's all just common sense - giving the clue, letter count and details of any you already have will mean that even people who don't do that particular puzzle can have a go at helping!

For your D clue...
Den, where a fox lives
U, anyone can watch (cinema)
Ram, sheep.
D u ram en. middle of wood.

Hi judy
Sorry, your first A is wrong.
It's an obscure word for the heartwood of a tree, but it builds up impeccably.
