Impressed that the answer for S is included, and kicking myself that I didn't see it sooner, having the crossers. However I'm struggling to.parse the clue- any hints?

That channel crossing was not long enough to manage this with only a phone scree and no internet but I now have all except the T. Is the 2nd word really O.E.H?

Finished it just now after reading about T/X transposition which we'd also done. But could someone please hint at the parsing of M? Definition OK, and 4 letters which could be "take" or possible "a second", but ... ?

PamD, the clue has a question mark, indicating it might be a bit of a stretch. If someone takes, steals a second they might be a ?? - ?????? . I believe that’s the idea.
