Baffled on 2d. I have ?T?M, but as I've said I'm not confident about the T. If it is right, I would also appreciate an explanation of the second definition in 8a!

I've also written in an answer for 19d that fits the definition, but I've no idea on the parsing. Could anyone explain/correct please?
