I think the second part of 24a means 26 was "depressed".

I just googled the last word of 24 and 26 and got pictures of fish! Your suggestion is more plausible I think.

In other news we all missed a major feature in last week’s prize. The acrostic in the first letters of the clues which adds to the list of counties in the Nina!

I felt that 20d was a word bunged in by the setter to fit in with the crossers. Otherwise I enjoyed the puzzle

Yes and no - the crossword section of them Guardian newspaper app still allows interactive completion but I do miss the specific Puzzle app, the one with Codewords and Sudoku etc

Brendan, yes I’m referring to the puzzles App. Today’s Codeword, Sudoku etc are all there. It seems it is still being updated.

Wow, jono. Just looked back at last week’s prize. I was ridiculously pleased with myself for spotting the grid Nina, as I hardly ever notice them without prompting, but I would never have spotted the acrostic Nina. Thanks!
