JohnT, thanks. If you click on the 'New Thread', you'll get a box where you put the namne, number of the puzzle - and then a box like this one where you can comment, query things etc.

I'm still stuck on four, in the top left corner, and I wonder if some kind person can give me a clue to these:

1a. Feeble Bob, vulnerable type (4,4)
I have only the 1st (L) and the 7th letter (C) L?????C?

2d. US post-operative chief covers large state (7)
????M?N - this could possibly be MAILMAN but I'm not sure.

3d. Outfit showing force, ejecting Ukrainian leader (5)
????S

10a. Eton's first eleven lost - side finally cast out. (5)
E????
Thanks,

1 A . A four letter 'feeble', weak, followed by a four-letter 'Bob' as a verb, to go down, avoid etc. The vulnerable type is the definition.

Many thanks, I have now finished. 10a is good with a Roman numeral.

I take it everyone's happy with lame duck as the answer to 1 across. It was my immediate thought, and the clue fully works out, but then remembered that some twenty years ago I thought I'd solved the Eye crossword for the first time including that as an answer, only to find that the first word should have been limp and the last vowel should have been an i.

Yes, Matt, happy with Lame duck!

Thanks to others who have helped me out on this. I was being held up by having the wrong part of the mail anatomy for the first word of 4d!

Stuck on my last two:

11a Rogue Daily Mail finally gets at one (9) C - - - L-T-N

Looks like Charlatan, but I can't pass it.

9d Badenoch's last broadcast swindle cut (6) - - -R-O (hints if possible please, rather than the answer!)
