Stuck on 2 short ones in SE corner. Any help gratefully received.

[I thought immediately BRASS - money, BR and ass but that makes my other clue E - B - R!

E and (rage)* gives EAGER.

G (money as in 1000 dollars) R ASS.
It grows on a common I suppose.

Have I gone wrong somewhere. Can't think of a single word that fits!
