I have spent ages on 1ac. My answer was correct but I cannot find it in Chambers; I find not that Webster has it

10d. I have the correct answer and understand the definition but I just can't get the wordplay to work 100%. I know what needs to be done but (without giving too much away) I can't get the exact letters when I do it. I've tried about six times, both starting with the clue and trying to get the answer and also starting with the answer and trying to get back to the clue. It doesn't help that I've not identified where the misprint occurs although I know the corrected letter. Anyone put me out of my misery?
