simon9x, 34 is baffling me, 40 is included (reversed) in the clue and is one of the 2nd set of 19.

Thanks for 40. I hadn't spotted that so was working only with the first, fourth and fifth letters but wondering about the other two.

34 does the short version of those two words (in their normal order) work the other way round?

34 is two single letters, second one inside a 4 letter word. clue only works because of the adjustment you have to do.

Thanks, Andy. That's what I assumed. I just wasn't sure that the two single letters worked that way round.

I've ground to a haul at the end. I filled the grid, know the film, the contributor and two sets of 19 letters. I see two characters from the film in the grid, but I have no idea how to depict the films outcome or what two letters to use.

Hints welcome.

The final paragraph in the 'Plot' section of the Wiki entry for the film should give you what's needed to complete the puzzle (+ the first name of one of the characters).

Thanks drxx. I think I figured it out. I actually had the first name and somehow missed the last. Not sure that paragraph of the wiki gives me the impression that the vertical character is fulfilled, but I'm fairly sure I have it now.
