Brendan, I believe you have the wrong word. Key as in keyboard.

Think of a key on a keyboard.

Buddy, I'm looking at the answer in my Chambers app and it only has the answer as an adjective with the definitions I gave earlier.

Well, I didn't find this too difficult. Perhaps slightly more than average. But then yesterday's Prize that everyone was proclaiming easy gave me fits.

Nice spot on the CCL, geeker. That can't be coincidence. Now we can all ponder the significance.

One question: Shouldn't 5d begin "Eat" instead of "Eats"?

Brendan, do they give you a certificate or something? 🤣

Don't be so hard on yourself; we've all done it.

darla, I think eats = food = lunch is OK. But eat = lunch as verbs would also work.

I see 6 other letter pairs: (LL, MM, NN, OO, 2xSS), but think the edge CCLs are the potentially meaningful items.

Good spot on the CCL Geeker, surely it must be there for a reason - I know Everyman looks in on the blog from time to time so maybe we'll find out.

Hi Darla,

I also found yesterday's Prize difficult - perhaps that fall I took had more of an effect than I thought 🤕

Hi Brendan/Buddy

I think I made the same mistake as you, Buddy has set me straight, John Le Carre coined the term for his top spy.
