Snowwhite I over complicated it. It's literally that first word. Leader removed.

Geeker, I prefer Jazz’s parsing. As quisling noted, it’s too big a stretch for “leader” to refer to the first letter of the second word.

Perhaps this is also a nod to an old but well known clue from Philistine…

…it’s from way back in 2013, but was much discussed at the time and has been subsequently.

If that parsing was Philistine’s intention, I think they should have gone with something like “Sport dispenses with ball to create a safe environment”

Jazzy, the answer to the old clue is Sport. S-Haven and S-Wine both = S-Port
