Hello all. First time poster here, and hugely appreciative of the help that I've had from this forum over the years.
I've scoured this entire thread for hints for my last two answers, and the fact that there aren't any suggests that they are completely obvious and I'll groan loudly when I see them. But could anyone give me any pointers for 22d and/or 26a? Thanks!

The word for fever appears inside 26a and is the solution to 22d

Finished. But. I have viable answers for 23a and 21d but not able to parse either despite 21d having so much coverage. Without spoilers is there a hint for either? I can't believe my answers are wrong given the definitions.

OK 23a I have. Poor GK on my part.

21d remove the leading letter from the first word, and this is a synonym of the answer

I thought some of the clues in this were inspired. Thanks Philistine. COD 11a and 25a.

Why is the word Sport used in that case. Don't really understand this parsing as the answer.
