i've given up on this - i can't see any connection between the clues with no definition

Hi Chris,

There is a noun that appears in two separate clues - this is the theme word. If you put it after the undefined 18a you should immediately see it.

.... in one of the clues it's a plural but same word.

chrise: What do clues 1 and 15 (the clues, not the solution) have in common?

i thought 21d was undefined, but i don't see it works with the theme word.

ah! i've found a list, and there is one!

i've found some more that fit, but i'm still not bothering. i don't think it;s fun to fit in things from a list when the clues are so loose (13d, for instance). this is simply a terrible crossword, as is usually the case with boatman.

geeker @16: yes, that’s what I was thinking of @9 (my ‘2 or 3’ alluded to the fact that two of the solutions - including a solution to one of the clues you’re referring to) are synonyms of the theme word…if that makes any sense at all!
