Thanks to Everyman, this was a good effort.
Took longer to solve than usual, but that was because I completely missed 12, had to set the puzzle aside and return.
FOI 1a, LOI 12 which unaccountably escaped me.

COD clearly 1d. I don't have a problem with the spelling, wrote in the answer. I recall once being corrected in school (either high school or college) and told to use C rather than K. Even here the C spelling is quite common. I've come to prefer it.

Enjoyable solve, but I found it slightly more challenging than last week.

i can't fully parse 13d. I can see a word for dishonourably with the B replaced by a T, but that leave a 3-letter word in the middle that I can't find in the clue.

Liked 14a, but am I alone in thinking that 'not' would have been better than 'never'??

Also liked 27a and the down hidden clue.

Thanks to earlier posters for the parsing of the first two words of 7d. Only got that clue because of the rhyming pair aspect.

I have all the crossings for 12A "Battle song winning Eurovision" but now I am stumped. A hint would be appreciated.

Double definition. Battle and title of a Eurovision-winning song.
By a Swedish group, favored in crossword land, with palindromic name.

Aha, thanks Chrise, I get it now! I was assuming that the B of bishop was being replaced by the T of tirade - I wasn't looking for a whole word to replace the B!

If anyone is still looking at this would you parse 13d. I have all the crossers and the only word that fits but do not follow the four letter word for Bishop.

The four-letter word replaced b for bishop in another word.
