Because 3.14 divides (comes between) the other two. Parentheses may have been helpful, thus…
(2.7183 + 25) ÷ 3.1416

Hi everyone, I had to come back to this twice but definitely more on the wavelength this morning. All finished now but I can't parse 11a for the life of me. There's surely only one answer. Can someone break it down for me? I did enjoy this after a slog last week.
