I thought this was on the easier side compared to recent weeks. Nothing too convoluted though a couple of definitions perhaps a little stretched. Didn’t know the term in 3d which held out til last and while Chambers confirms the meaning of the first word, the second word isn’t given. I have a tick from the app so assume I have it correct.

All done quite quickly. Jono, 3d is in one dictionary here as informal North American term

I think that your 3D is right, Jono. It gives it on Google largely as an Americanism. Like you I thought that it was quite straightforward this week.

Sorry all started a thread at the same time. Not so witty this week I thought, all the usual mechanisms and straightforward.

I was held up by a few. A number of quite straightforward anagrams and a couple if hiddens. Rooner spitterns if I may say so in that way. And that is my CoD. No others stood out for me, nothing particularly made me smile. Have not parsed 9a. Rhyming pair was helpful. Over to you all and have a good day.

Jazz, Cymro, thanks, I also found support for 3d online.

Struggled in the NE corner, and a bit of googling (cheating) revealed that I had 4A wrong. But my original answer (famous lawyer) so nearly works (and fits all the crossers) that I wonder if others will fall into the same trap. To clutch at a flimsy straw, didn't he insist on waiting till the accused was proven guilty?
COD is the other one that held me up - 9A - which raised a smile when the parsing penny finally dropped.

Indeed, 9a parses 1-4. Start at A-???? and count from there.

Thanks on 9a. 19th had me thinking about bars and holes.

are you all doing a different crossword from me? i found this (a) difficult, and (b) full of loosenesses and errors. i have quibbles with 4a, 9a, 11a, 16a, 6d, 10d, and 25a.
in particular, how does "duck" work in 25a?
