I see what you mean about 20a Geeker, very careless as I can't believe it was intentional.

20 would surely be better if the clue said “hosiery business” or something like that

On the musical theme, I almost whiffed [baseball slang] on 3 because the only Austrian composers who came to mind after 11 across [a really good clue] in Picaroon's recent Guardian 29,115, were Arnold and Alban. 🤣

At first I thought I must have the 3rd word of 20 wrong but of course nothing else works. Perhaps a late erratic change by the ed?

Agreed on 20 here as well. I kept debating that my answer couldn't be right. I thought it should be hosiery sales, but Jono's hosiery business is good.

Never heard the term in 2. Obvious enough, but not in Chambers.

Really, darla? It's a common feature of churches.

I though 1d was a poor clue. It either needs a "sounds like" indicator, or at least a reference to that awful song (which wouldn't work, because for consistency it wouldn't give the required letters).

You may have 2d wrong - the answer is in Chambers.

Ray is in Chambers as a variant of the more usual two letter spelling, but I agree that’s a bit sneaky

As so often, I'm amazed at Jono's ability to parse clues that leave me flummoxed hours after the answer has gone in! It was another ten minutes before the penny finally dropped re 1D even after reading your hint on here!
Surprised no one else has raised an issue with 8d. As far as I can see, for it to work, the clue should read (the nonsensical) 'Bashed on on cut'! In other words, we need an additional 'on' for the definition, and the 'a' is superfluous.
