Thanks Jono for posting the link to the article, the occurrence of so many real /proper names makes a lot more sense now that I understand the context. I can't say I particularly enjoyed this week (sorry Everyman!) and I still can't parse 22 down. I expect it's really obvious as no one else has mentioned it.

Hey Phil, I hope the name at seven down isn't too distracting: it was required to make the other thematic material fit, so it's thematic only in that it was from the part where the three surviving Everyman setters compiled the non-vintage clues.

Thanks! I didn't know this word (I'm not as embarrassed by this as by not knowing Fray Bentos was more than a trade name for a tinned pie maker though). I gave up Geography too soon.
