All done - but struggling with the parsing of 23a and 12d.

All done now - spent far too long chasing a red herring regarding a caterpillar. Never heard of the thematic item before, but did have an inkling of the relevance of one of the other thematics.

andyp - 23a mythological figure, normally 5 letters, 12d double defn

Demeter #16 - totally agree - although very late starting, found it almost trivially easy - probably the easiest and fastest Listener I've ever solved.
I'm a great fan of the thematic subject- deserves a more challenging tribute.

Like many others, after a late download the grid fill was too quick. However, I"m still struggling to make anything from the message - any chance of a cryptic hint as to what to do?

Post 24 is very helpful... (And any more might be straying out of 'gentle nudge' territory!)

I find Demeter's comment rather offensive and unnecessary. The current puzzle took me longer than last week's, and indeed the two weeks before that. One of the things I enjoy about the Listener is the different levels of difficulty which occur each week, and I, for one, am perfectly happy to to accept the slightly more accessible ones when they occur.
