Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any special instructions or additional information should also be included.

The Theme ...

Requests may be made here for help with the theme. The 'help' should be in the form of a gentle nudge, something that steers the solver in the right direction - not anything too blatant, not anything that would spoil the puzzle for others.

Any queries or answers which - even inadvertently - reveal too much information are likely to be removed. Norah, the site administrator, isn't a crossworder herself, so it's good if we have no need to consult her unnecessarily. If we're smart enough to attempt the Listener crossword, we should be smart enough to get the balance right!

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

No sign of it on the Times website at 1610. I don't recall a Good Friday problem in earlier years.

I’ve joined the hitting-refresh brigade… Stopped by at a nice tea room specially for a first look at the Listener — might just have to enjoy the tea 🤣
