32 goes in straight (checking Chambers for an unusual meaning of the last word might help). You've got far too many clashing cells and it's what is in the cells, individually, that matters.

Cockie, all I can say is “you are not alone”. I’ve got a nearly full grid and not the faintest idea about what’s going on. I took a break with the IQ, which I recommend.

For 31N - think of a spicy bbq dish and and put in a seed.

Is 20S entered oddly? I can solve the wordplay, but it doesn’t quite fit normally. And the def eludes me.

When that one goes in you'll know where you're going. I think you should try googling your answer + the first word in the clue.

Yorick - that was probably the most difficult puzzle we’ve done for a very long time. The clues themselves were fair, but the preamble took some understanding and several wrong placing of letters on our part. Positioning relatively spot on too.
Well constructed, thanks.

Morning all, I've got a full grid, assuming the single letters are the first letters of the items, got the 'others', but can't work out what 'internal thematic letters' means. A nudge or an example will be gratefully received.

I could only think of one kind that is thematic, and the preamble tells us which ones to ignore.

Thanks drxx, I must be particularly dim this morning, still can't see it. What is or are the letter(s) associated with 7W for instance?
