Thanks Jazzgirl. Would never have got that! Didn’t realise $ signified S (but you live and learn) and didn’t think of splitting the number into both text and Roman. (I did think of Roman at first but ended up with endless MMMMMs!!!) Muchos gracias.

Good to see you've not stopped posting jazzgirl, I agree the captchas can be annoying at times, sometimes you can go ages without being asked and then you get loads in a row! They are also getting more blurry and vague. Captchas basically use us humans to train image recognition neural nets. Knowing what a human thinks a traffic light looks like is going to be useful for self-driving cars anyway ;)

The capatchas are not there today as I am on laptop .
They are worse on iPad. Even my email woud not let me check my inbox without 6 of the little devils to check !

The CAPTCHA has a mind of its own and is, unfortunately, totally outside Ash’s control. It is here to stay with all its moods, being the least of two evils - the Korean spam or CAPTCHA, there’s no contest really.

I don’t have too much trouble with it though sometimes it takes 2 or 3 goes, other times it’s very blurred, but by and large I just accept it and get on with the job.

I use both Ipad and computer and both seem to operate CAPTCHA in a similar manner.

On laptop it is over the 8, but not on iPad
I will look out for the next clue where it is mentioned :)

On the Captchas ... Oddly, on my (Android) phone, I just tick the not-robot box and I'm straight in. (It's very different on laptop and desktop.) Can't work out if this is a good thing or if all the data gatherers gave already gathered everything they want to gather from this device!
