HI everyone

Guess what? I'm struggling. Started after lunch about 3.00pm and FOI was 8ac. Much to my amazement, I got the theme, but like many others have struggled with parsing some of the clues. I was very pleased when I got 17,19 and parsed it. Having said that I still have many to go like 9,4. Of course, I've got 9ac, but cannot get 4d. A hint for 11ac might give me another crosser.
Is the definition for 14ac a battle site. I've found a battle that had a stand from a football ground that fits.
I'm completely fazed (or is it phased?) by 13d, though I have the first letter - otherwise an empty SW corner. A hint for 23ac might help me. I'll be back to check in a few minutes once I've cracked 5d. I don't understand the parsing hint @38 from Quisling for 1d.

9,4 is an anagram and you probably have the right word for 9.
Sounds like you’re on the right track for 14ac.
