THE CLUES
Requests for help with clues should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any special instructions or additional information should be included.
NB - Hints only should be given, no answers please.

THE THEME
Requests may be made here for GENTLE NUDGES only towards the theme. (Yes, 'gentle nudges' is rather vague, but Forum members, Listener solvers, seem to manage reasonably well.) Please do not reveal the theme under any circumstances.

Posts praising the puzzle should avoid any reference - jocular or otherwise - to the theme.

The Listener is a unique puzzle, so please try to treat it with the respect it deserves. Don't give away any more than is necessary.

The posts on the Listener thread generally go right over my head, but I've never attempted the puzzle as I have no idea where to find it. Could someone give me a clue on that, please?

ChrisE, subscribers (I'm not one) can access the puzzle from around 4 pm on a Friday, hence the starting time of this thread. Most of us see the paper version on Saturday mornings.

It's in the Review section of the Times each Saturday.

Sorry, ChrisE, I think I assumed that you knew the Listener was in the Times.

Thanks - that rules it out for me; I'm strictly Guardian!

Chris, we can probably expect a ‘larger-than-usual’ Bank Holiday special in the G tomorrow

Hi jono
Yes, but I find them offputting and rarely attempt them. I might try an alphabetical jigsaw.
On the whole I don't enjoy puzzles that take me more than half an hour or so to solve. "Jumbos" tend to feel more like work than fun...

Yes, that was fun and I too had a chuckle at 34 ac. Not for the first time, I've got a completed puzzle and can't figure out the meaning of the title.
