Greetings from the east coast. I always struggle with 'extra letters' and unlike other regulars I am far from finished despite having a full grid.
My problem this time are the extra letters that run from 14 across to 23 across, the rest are in place. I have T?T?L as the start which must be wrong (?). I also cannot solve 19 and 21 across extras.
I can see that others are there and would appreciate a gentle nudge in the spirit of the thread
Thanks

WS, that L in your sequence is wrong. 19 across is a a reversal of a word for "simple" with its last letter extra + a two-letter abbreviation for American Plan. 21 is a crosswordy word for jazz fan + reversal of a word meaning anger, annoyance with its first letter extra.

williamseal,

As well as what loge explained, with respect to your missing 17ac:

Anagrams of synonyms of two words in the clue are needed—the missing letter could come from either anagram.

ethik,

Oh, true—I had interpreted them as anagrams but of course you're right, reversal is more specifically accurate. Although I think you may have potentially overstepped the spoiler line!

I'm not entirely sure about the title either, but am guessing it's a reference to where the protagonist may often be found?
