2D is the only one I don't really understand how to parse (apart from the first letter).

4D was a good clue as well.

Not sure what the mighty is needed for in 13D.

I'm pretty sure I've seen an almost identical clue for 15D fairly recently.

15A was also good I agree.

Perhaps Picaroon set this puzzle*...2 and the use of NATO alphabet are reminiscent of 19 and 17 in Picaroon's recent Prize 28,679 (15 Feb). I believe 17 was my LOI in that puzzle, perhaps also COD!

I wouldn't be surprised, Geeker and, like you say, it would account for the high quality.

Paradigmshifter, I have, at various times, tried to learn the likes of Romance de Amour, Recuerdos de la Alhambra, La Cavantina (Theme from Deer Hunter) and 12a - basically, all the usual suspects but, alas, I think the best that can be said for my efforts is "another partial success"! 😫

11 Feb works... for large values of 11 :p
