Interesting, paradigmshifter. Obviously the 3.5 achieved by a simulation is a mean, whereas my “wager” of 3 or less v 4 or more is a median. But I wonder if many people on here get 3 as their most common score once they’ve played a while, or 4?

I started with audio and found a choice of wedge and the answer for my second line. As I chose the wrong one I did it in 3 not 2!

Coincidentally PROXY is my sole line 2 success too. I have forgotten which word I started with. I have played only for the last 26 consecutive days and 'lost' just once, choosing JERKY not PERKY for line 6. Otherwise 10 x line 3, 10 x line 4 and 4 X line 5.

Are you surprised that apparently some on social media have been muting friends who post their Wordle score?

I am glad it is only one word per day. However, if the New York Times start charging I certainly wouldn't think it worth subscribing.

I do the puzzles just for a bit of fun with a small closed group.
But on facebook, I have a larger family/friends group and only one has consistently posted her scores. I don't comment on them and am not adding mine . Muting friends is just childish ,
I certainly would not pay for a minute's fun every day

I`ve just played the game for the first time - I can see why it`s become so popular that even Radio4 know about it - got it in 4, which I suppose is average/mediocre ?

tyke, 4 is my modal value (followed in frequency by 3). I also have a 2 but that is just blind luck, To get it in 3 you often have to make a guess that just happens to be correct.

Cheers Buddy - should we ask Mattrom to keep a list of the words to avoid duplication?
