Thanks David, I do know who he is and he does seem to be quite popular, although I'm not a fan - I saw him on QI a while back and he was just trying way too hard, constantly interrupting and, on the odd occasion he got a laugh, really milking it.

Quite tricky today. My last one, 10A, seems to be thematic but I can’t see the parsing apart from the first letter.

10a - Yes, it's themed and is single letter "nothing" then 4 letter "wrong" reversed/"about".

Phew. That was hard. Finished it but it has taken most of a 2 hour train journey. FOI: 21d (I started in the middle for some reason). LOI: 5d. COD: I enjoyed 13ac, both the process of working out which words to use and also the end result. Thank you, Boatman!

13a - Same here! Even though I had the answer and knew the device for solving, I continually kept messing it up so I always had either a letter too many or too few 😡

13a: What is the definition for this clue?
16,14: Obviously a themed clue. But I don't follow the literary gossip part.

13a - definition is "seeds at Wimbledon"

17,14 - 3 letter "supress" then the next 3 letter word means "a collection of someone's table talk or gossip, literary anecdotes or possessions".

29a - I owe a big apology to "comic Dave".

I've just seen a picture of him on Google and, I'm sorry to say, I had him confused with someone else.

How embarrassing 😡
