TICKLISH is both sensitive and difficult
BRASSIE is an old name for a golf club (3 wood?)
I've not written it out, but I suspect that MEAN SPIRITED without MATE is the anagram for INSPIRED
A horse race is secular?
NAME (handle) backwards, then a TE (note)
