I'm struggling to parse 18D. I can see the note but if I replace it with T for time I don't see a word meaning savoury :/

Ah I see. I was thinking TI was the note, not N

Just back on the forum after a day of painting DIY . Thank you all for the hints, I finally got the PDM. And I think it has to be my COD too

I did spend some time on the word gamy, which can also mean suggestive I believe! All good fun

Agree with the previous comments about this one being easier and also about the ridiculous 6d. FOI 1a and LOI 7d, because I’m still not sure about it. Could someone explain it for me?

Hi MPRS,

7d - People who lay tiles are tilers so people who lay slates are .... - It's also a word meaning to abuse or speak unfavourably about.

I just realised I couldn't parse it either but then I realised I had the wrong word ;)

I got the correct word before I saw brendan's post.

Thanks guys:-)

PS I see what you mean about 6d - not exactly the smoothest of surfaces!

Hi everyone - I'm a day late to the party, as didn't start this until last night. Got off to a roaring start, thinking 'this is easier than usual' but then came to a standstill, so went to bed.

Nearly there now (couldn't have got 8a without the hints on here, so many thanks for that). But I seem to be the only one stuck on 10a. Any hints please? Also, I can't parse 15d and can only partially parse 13d. I get the topple and the fizz, which leaves me with the first two letters - AN. How is that part of negroni?? Agree about the awful 6d! Lots to appreciate though. Really liked 23a and liked the simplicity of the smooth surface of 19d.
