I really enjoyed this, much easier than last week, also saw the “captured” instead of “captures” bodge, and completely agree re 6d, wrote in the answer then went back to work out the tortuous parsing!

I bet if it was a “peer review” here there’d be half a dozen better options. Broadly speaking, Franco maybe at home?

... or maybe 'Where you'd find Schwarzkopf's lunch'?

i didn't enjoy this - too many "it's probably that" entries. 12a was second entry, but i've no idea how it works - doh, just seen it!
my understanding of bootlegging isn't the same as needed for 8.
"skilful manoeuvre" is very loose for 20a

I didn’t think this was particularly good, certainly not up to the standard of recent Everymans. But yesterday’s Prize was amazing, so hey.
FOI 1a, LOI 6d cos I had a typo in 9a. I’ll go with 22d for COD, but there aren’t many contenders imo.
Have a good day everyone.

I can't fathom 18d. I'm confident about my crossers but the only word that fits (using both this site and Chambers) doesn't match the definition or wordplay :-/

Spoiler alert: hope it's not too early in the thread to post the crossers: n?e?i?r.

For 8a I can see two words that fit that mean suggestive, but I can't get either of them to parse, even with Richards hint.

4d must have been corrected online by the time I started as it worked.

Other than that it was quite nice to have an easier Everyman today when I have lots of DIY to do :)

Oh and I did put the American spelling into 1a but spotted my mistake when I parsed it
