Apologies, the Autry song is the wrong answer I first wrote in!
The answer is a three-word American term pertaining to teetotalling; the third word is an object often encountered in Western films.

Ah that makes more sense, but also means my 4a was wrong. Putting in a different vowel, I think I can come up with the mass online chat, but I have no idea if it means a noisy scene.

Hi Lexo, in 6a the first three letters are the noisy scene with a single letter for mass, defn is online chat.
Agree about 3d/11d, Everyman did something similar a while back I recall.

I thought cowboys were much more likely to be on horses than the answer!

Ah.. yeah that makes more sense.

I, being old, thought of a different type of online chat that ends in the same three letters. I don't know if I would consider the answer a "chat" but that may just be me.
