Does anyone else wince at 'fed up of it'? Maybe it's an option but I prefer 'fed up with it'.

I have frequently read and heard the 'of' version. I was prompted by a Times report today quoting the Tory candidate for Tiverton & Honiton: 'It is very easy to stand on the sidelines and attack and be aggressive. What I am hearing on the doorsteps is people are fed up of it.'

I wince at it too, ph and I prefer "fed up with..."
I don't like "bored of" instead of "bore with" either.
But it must be difficult for someone learning English to get it right each time.
I'm sick of it, tired of it, fed up with it, bored with it, done with it, etc.

another very irritating advert - we buy any car dot com
your nearest branch (?) could be as near as 13 miles away, over a graphic that says "average distance 13.8 miles". if that's the average, lots must be considerably less than 13 miles away!

On the cricket feed on the BBC Sport website last night, the following sentence appeared:

I rarely post in threads, Chris, but I couldn’t resist joining in with the late great Brian Johnson’s cricket commentary which caused uproar, I think it was said in all innocence

“The batsman’s Holding the bowler’s Willey”

Norah, deservedly a classic, but oft misquoted. It was actually “The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey”. Michael Holding rarely hung around too long with the bat …
