22d - The (6,6,3) tells you the last letter of your answer goes in position 1 in the grid. Your other letter will go at position 4 I think

15d - If you have a trio like NTT and two unchecked cells then the TT must fill those or the solution would be ambiguous. From memory anyway - I think it was the same in 3d

I have a full grid and see how across entries are made to fit. I have (I think) author 2 and (a guess at) author 1 who share a genre. But so far no pdm as to the link. I can see a definite article in rows 1 to 3. Does that lead anywhere? Hints, nudges, blows to the side of the head, answers in neon capitals all welcome.

Hi jack,

Yes, continue with the L under the definite article and then carry on down to the bottom (but in a wavy line).

Thank you, Brendan. Penny just dropped from an enormous height right on to my toe. Ow! And how well I deserved it!

Hi Buzzb,

5d - I think it's a double definition

Lord's is the cricket ground and "rabbits" are the "tail" end, or last batters to go in, often the weakest. It's also a legal term meaning "limitation of inheritance to certain heirs" - although their might be another meaning that I've missed.
