Fast and Furious (especially compared to yesterday's Prize.) FOI 1d. One rhyming couplet (as far as I know). LOI 26a, but cannot parse it so I may stand corrected. Looking forward to reactions and comments - especially Brendan's and Geeker's in-depth analyses.

I agree this was much more straightforward than yesterday’s. With 26a, you just swap the letter for run with money to get the sweepstakes.

Thank you, Rainman. Makes perfect sense.

Thanks to Everyman. Agreed that it's easier than yesterday's Prize, but perhaps that's as it should be...recent Everyman blog entries on 225 have complained that Everymans have become too difficult.
Also noticed the couplet of long rhymes. I couldn't see a theme.
FOI 10, LOI 20. Co-COD 26 and 21.
Not a super-fast solve. Answers to 22 and 23 were close to write-ins, but I struggled with parsing. I'm still pondering 20, don't see a clear definition. All but the final word ("ultimately") could be an &Lit-style definition, but that final word appears necessary for a constructive parsing. Either I've gone astray (strong possibility) or the clue is somewhat muddled.

Hi Geeker.
With 20d I suspect “hazard” is doing double duty as the answer is another straight swap in the middle of the word. Hazard gives the swap in letter and the definition is it and the two words before it. Not ideal and I do agree it is a messy clue.

Thought was about the right level for Everyman, fairly straightforward but with a few trickier parses. No more unnecessary punctuation and with some nice surfaces to be found.
Only quibbles were, 6d - perhaps should be spirit rather than spirits but that would spoil the surface, and not sure we needed the italics.
I think 20d is trying to be an &lit with a somewhat apologetic “!”. To add to points below, the final word indicates the replacement letter, but it’s not exactly clear which way round it should go. I’m largely confident only because the app gave me a green tick!
“Gainsaying” in 10a was an odd choice, ‘giving’ would have been simpler.
Liked 19, 23 and 26.
1a always reminds me of that scene in Fawlty Towers ;-)
Cheers all

Thanks jono - I had the wrong letter in 20d.
Why "bit of" in 18d?
How does 24d parse?
I loved 23a!

18d good point, don’t know, unless just for misdirection
24d Jack’s direction is up we have to assume!

Maybe I'm having an off day, but I thought this was a shambles. I can't even get close to fully parsing 6D or 19A, 20D is a mess of an &lit, and 26A hinges on abbreviating 'money' to a single letter. And who on earth is Jack in 24D? Overall, it reminded me of the muddled puzzles at the start of 2020. Perhaps they're giving that setter another chance?
