Muraria, I couldn't see any way to do it except what we call brute force. I wrote down all possible numbers with the two cases of 9 and the three remaining primes in three possible positions. Then just a matter of testing which one was a multiple of one of the other remaining primes. Lots of button pushing on the calculator.

Hi mprs,
Many thanks.
I took a break and cranked up the calculator again, and managed to crawl over the line eventually. An extra hint from Zag around B, F, R and J would have helped enormously I think.

Have just completed this at the second attempt having missed the prime number for 13 and put in the wrong value for J. I did not find anything difficult; just a lot of work and time spent especially with the last four primes with lots of dividing two numbers to see if one was a factor of another. I thought it was a clever construction but a bit too tedious for the solver.

After surpassing my own world record of false starts on a mathematical I have finally cracked this. My last digit to input was the first one of 2A, and after several iterations of the possible without any success a mildly severe panic started to emerge. Thankfully I did find the solution and the palpitations began to subside. When I started this I thought it would be one of the gentler mathematicals - what a berk I can be!!!

Hi Buzzb - just seen your post "Nothing in the preamble implies that there are unique answers for the clues" - surely that is exactly what the final sentence ("all answers and entries are different") says? I hope so anyway or I may have to go back and re-check everything!

spugh - what buzzb means is that there can be more than one answer that fits the clue. For example, with 7a, you could cut the prime D from the start or the end of the entry and it would still be divisible by D.

You are right though, all the answers (whichever ones you pick) and the entries are different from each other
