Three quadrants fell into place fairly easily and then I hit the SW quadrant - and sat there for ages until a breakthrough occurred. New spelling for me of 16a but apparently legitimate. Enjoyed 12a and 26a. FOI 1a. Over to you, Brendan

I definitely have everything correct (big green tick on the app) but:
I can’t see how 6a is constructed “Conceited runner? Not half!”

nor 15a “Offered response when director quit (having undergone censorship) “

I don’t understand where the second half of 26a comes from “Cash in kind of roll from S African politicians”

22d not sure how set comes in to it “We're told to set kind of update”

I like 1a too Alzy just because it is possible..
20a is lovely. 23 brought on a smile. 24 is quite a feat of construction! 2d is pleasing in its simplicity.

Just challenging enough without being frustrating today.
Another rhyming pair this week I see.
Greetings to all and happy solving!

Thanks to Everyman for an enjoyable puzzle. After Paul's super-tough Prize yesterday, this felt like a relief, though I'd rather not give a difficulty ranking. The SW quadrant also slowed me down. FOI 1d, LOI 3. Several excellent clues, not necessarily the hardest to solve but nicely constructed. Co-COD 3, 1a and 15.

Hi Femmenoire.

6a is the first half of a word that is used for a certain kind of runner who specializes in booty.
15a slip in a "d" for director and you have the word for censorship. Think of a lot of blacked out words.
26a “Cash in kind of roll from S African politicians” I am inclined to agree with you because letters are being used twice.
22d “We're told to set kind of update” is a homonym (because it says "told.")

I have NOT found a rhyming pair. Unless it's staring me in the face.

26a confused me a bit too but the first word is a kind of roll you eat and the second word seems to be a 2 letter abbreviation of “from” followed by the initials of a S African political party.

A good everyman today - managed to get through all but one clue. 25a - despite having the crossers I am really struggling to make sense of the clue. Any hints welcome.

Matador 25a is a Greek mythology reference - one of those words I only know because it comes up in crosswords. Homophone for word that means rod (roughly)
