Lucy, with regards to blood donation, does this mean anything to you...?

“A pint? Have you gone raving mad? I mean, I came here in all good faith to help my country. I don’t mind giving a reasonable amount, but a pint? Why, that's very nearly an armful!”

If not, I can’t help you ;-)

Blimey you're making me feel old, I'm no where near seventy and I got 25a straight away

However for some reason I just can't get 10a , no pennies dropped yet

Are the letters E?R?I?G?D correct?

All your crossers are correct. Answer splits 3,6 with the 6-letter section being a humorous description of a judge.

Warden, it’s a slang word for listening in to a conversation. The second part of the word refers to a judge’s headgear.

Cymro@20, that's unfair! I'm in mid 60s and familiar with the character and episode, which is a classic - 'It was either that [blood donation] or join the Young Conservatives.'
His radio shows have been remade for Radio 4 extra and a conversation with Galton & Simpson, the writers, was on TV not long back, so even much younger people are likely to have heard of him

Finished on my own without resorting to the forum.
Last one in was 17a, a definite PDM.
However, there a couple unparsed so will look in later.
It's a lovely day here in Devon and I must get out in the garden. I need my vitamin D !

Well, all you clever clogs who rattled through 3886, can one of you please give me a clue for 15A? I've got C?N???M?T? S?I?? and no idea where to go from there. I'm also stuck on 7A although I think it might be an anagram of plaited? At least, being 78, I'd no trouble with 25A!
