Apologies, I should have added a special thankyou to Krauton. Oh, and incidentally, I'm unhappy with what I end up with at 25Ac. I see it in BRB as a recognised abbreviation, but not a "real word". What do you all think?

Turast, my Chambers has it listed as a real word, with " (inf, often with cap'' then the definition. The second entry has a dot after the word, and 'abbrev' is next, then definitions.

Hi Turast,

My Chambers phone app gives it as real word in addition to an abb.

I thought Mr Sheen with Ms Smith? 25ac is in Chambers and not as an abbreviation.

Thanks to Wan for a challenging but nonetheless rewarding puzzle.

I've done all the transmutations but, as the King isn't mentioned in the ODQ 4th Ed., I'm still not sure I've got the right quote. As I say, I've already finished so don't need it but still - Is it the one referring to 'men fighting like women' etc.?

Well, vaguely maybe, Brendan! The quote has one turning into the other and vice versa.

That's great, that's the one I've got, "men fighting like .......... and women ........".

Thanks for all your help with this one Malone.

Thanks, Brendan. The ODQ quote is only one line, and doesn't mention the fighting!

Thanks Malone,

I've seen a version on 'Classicalwisdom.com that says "My men fight like ....." but the Wiki version just says "My men have become .......".

I'm just glad I found the right one given that, the three or four puzzles that referred to a quote in ODQ - not a single one has been in the 4th Ed. In fact, the last one that was there, if I'm not mistaken, was The Borg "resistance is futile" quote, probably the most recent of them all.
