Parses please.....

3d Inclined to change name and Lord that's depressing (6) LEADEN leaned changed to leaden/? Where does Lord fit in?
10d Call for note once edited (4) N?ED need?
12d Plant at the ends losing water and sap (8) SAWGRASS

Kirky: you've left out "cut" in the clue for 12D which is quite important!
10D lose a letter from the third word.

My problem is with the transmutation at 13D. There is only one name which fits, but the definition needed is not given in C, though it seems reasonable. Any alternative thoughts?

12d - 3 letters for "cut" then two letters for "ends (of) losing water" + 3 letter "sap"

Kirky, the first six letters will give a word, name, then a single letter. It's in the ODQ.

I have the quote now ...i had an extra from 22d ...misread it....
