Thank you sweetpea6. I rationalized it was the first two words, but as you said no anagram solver did !!

can I have some clues for these please
6 this one had scrap with another bird (7)
9 but late love was doomed from the start (4 4 )
18 unfortunately lack beard and wig -in the westminster way (8 4)
97then child in fog got disorientated and was found in the library (3 9)

18 and 97 both anagrams involved - in 18 Unfortunately is the indicator and 97, it's disorientated

6 - Common garden bird

9 - a plan or scheme that 'never gets out the water'. Passed away is a euphemism for saying someone is,.......

hello - its me again. I still have 20 clues to solve, but there are 2 that are really baffling me.
8. Turning head when surprised, wife, ready outside, to kiss lovingly (7)
That seems like a lot of clue for just 7 letters!! and
46. Senots. ( Beachcombers) (10)
I can anagram 'senots' but am a bit stumped from there on !
Any further hints would be much appreciated.

I also stuck on No. 8 but for No. 46 I have got the answer as turnstones as senots in reverse or turned is stones.

Thankyou sweetpea6 . That answer is great and I'll take it !- but strangely there is no mention of this bird in Chambers. Oh well !

There is a turnstone in my Chambers I have seen them on the beach, too. Lovely little birds.
