I am new to this site but wondering if anyone can give me some clues to Question 39 "Jill, march me to eccentric officer in a tree - squawking!"(5,8)? I must be very dense since nobody else seems to have referred to it so far! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

eccentric = anagram indicator
Anagram of words before eccentric

Many thanks Titus - I have been trying that anagram but looking for a species of bird! Finally clicked with the reference to "officer" in the clue!

Many thanks for suggestions.

Hi Cherry. Re 60. " but the winger is in demand for international".
The answer, a seabird, is hidden (4 letters) in the clues longest word.

I now have the answers for 75 and 95.

Hi Wilks53.
To check for a duplicate post you will need to type in the name of the quiz or crossword, in this case "Watch The Birdie" in the search box or quickly scroll back a couple of pages or so to see if there is already a thread running.

Looking at your question
I have had a look on the Rainbow Quiz site and the question is
"Fictional captain had sailors at front of ship holding the Arab" (7,4)
think you have the answer

Jacks (sailors) + prow (front of ship) + AR (Arab)

Wilks53, welcome to the Forum, the more the merrier.

I usually suggest that Users scan down the first page and look at the headings to see if your quiz/crossword already has a thread open. If it does, then post your query there, otherwise you can start a new thread.

I instigated the policy of one thread per crossword on the first page because there were too many duplicate threads, on one day nearly the whole of the first page was occupied by just 3 crosswords.

This drove our regular users absolutely crackers so the ‘one post rule’ was implemented. They seem to appreciate it because duplicate posts always get reported to me and my thread PLEASE READ - DO NOT CREATE DUPLICATE THREADS gets ‘bumped’ to the top on a regular basis.
