I would appreciate some help re No. 85. Best possible answer I have got at the moment is a run on and is the first name of an author with a surname appropriate to the quiz.
Thanks in advance

I am sticking with the "popular" one, but then I usually miss the full score by two or three close calls.

I am going with the one that is a part of the wording of the question. It refers to a fledgling hawk, usually in training.

Hello everyone. Thanks for some of your clues. I now have five left to solve and please can I have some help?
63. Discerning as a bird of prey (5,4)
67. Grouse from Polish capital, a migrant, it turns out (9) - have various names of past/current Polish capitals - Warsaw/Zlotys/Krakow - but can’t work it out?
81. Lament not starting out as a wader (5). ???
98. In extremes of weather even this bird can fly (4) ???
99. Daisy called members of a battery(3,3,8) - have a clue from either this site or Answerbank - “type of daisy with name of 2 birds (can be called either name). Live in battery. Product necessary in every day use”. Is this something to do with hens and eggs?
Any help on above would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi Haeremai
For No 63 the answer I have got is what you call someone who is excellent at noticing things.
81 - think of a 6 letter word for lament and remove the first letter
98 - the clue is telling you to take the outside (extremes) of two the words in the clue
99 - you have got the first 2 words (not eggs) if you make it singular; look at that word in Chambers and you will see the answer.
