Jogamel, ignore all the clues that start in the top row to begin with. And then you should discover that every other clue is missing a letter

The missing letter is N, at the end of “tee(n)”, and the answer is TEARAWAY. Anagram of at + e (last of Hoylake) + raw (green) + ay (alas)

I think I've almost completed this, but after an obvious instruction given by the clues, everything has fallen apart from 11 down.
There's probably something else that needs to be done. If so, could someone give me a nudge please.
