Whew! Finally finished off the beast. Not a fan of the film in question. Coincidentally, a couple of weeks ago I was having a few beers after playing tennis and it was playing on TV in the bar. Looked pretty stupid. (Yes, stupid is as stupid does.)

No further forward on 7 and 14 but will think on.

Lumen, fliers as in birds. The entry at 18 is in the Chambers app as well.

7a. is a Scots word for 'folds or wrinkles' with the I replaced by an A

11d - opining was the misprint.
